Canada: Departure

Vancouver and Calgary are the designated departure cities. Departures from other Canadian cities are available, at an additional cost. Presently, the plan is that team members will be flying from their cities of departure to Montreal where they will meet with their colleagues for the remainder of the trip to Uganda.

Entebbe: Arrival 

After arriving at EBB, teachers will be shuttled to the Karibu Guest House for the evening in order to settle into the country.

Soroti: Travel

The team will depart from Entebbe in the AM, and head towards Soroti. They should arrive in the late afternoon. 

In the evening, accommodations will be provided at a local hotel.

Soroti: Teacher Training 

The team will spend a couple days doing teacher training, with teachers from nearby projects.

Gulu: Travel

In the morning the team will visit individual schools in the Soroti area, before heading to Gulu. They will arrive late afternoon, and stay the night.

Gulu: Teacher Training 

The team will spend a couple days in the Gulu area, working with teachers fro the region and visiting different projects.

Murchison Falls: Safari 

After Gulu, the team will spend a day in Murchison Falls. It is a beautiful area to rest, relax, and recoup from the busy week. As well, the team will have the opportunity to see a wide range of Africa wildlife on a safari drive through the region.

Kampala: Travel

After one last game drive in the morning, the team will head back towards Kampala. After a late afternoon arrival, they will stay at a local guesthouse.

Kampala: Project Visits 

On Monday, the group will visit various projects in the area, getting a first-hand look at the work Classrooms does. 
Tuesday is a leisure day - guest can shop, tour the city, or just take a day to rest! The team will then head to Entebbe for an evening flight home.

Entebbe: Travel & Departure 

In the morning, guests will be free to shop, explore, sightsee, or just rest before an afternoon drive to Entebbe and an evening departure home.

Cost

$4,300 per person (NOTE: tax receipts for donations up to $3,400 towards the cost can be issued if needed) 

Includes

  • Economy class airfares to and from departure cities identified below

  • All meals and accommodations

  • In country transportation;

  • Entrance fees and associated costs for visit to the game park

  • US$100 visa fee payable when you arrive in Uganda

  • Any medical expenses such as pre-trip shots and medications and anti-malaria medications

How To Register 

Send an email to Ray Sutton at Classrooms for Africa: info@classroomsforafrica.org expressing interest. You will then be sent an information sheet too complete and asked to make a down payment of $2,500 a few months before the trip. We regret we can only accept online credit card payments with a surcharge of 3%.
